Smashing Pumpkins - 1979 - MyVideo
- ‘1979′ was released in 1996 as the second single from their third studio album, Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness
- To capture the proper feel on video, the band traveled to Los Angeles to renew acquaintances with directors Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris, who in 1994 had filmed the Pumpkins’ video for “Rocket,” from Siamese Dream. Dayton and Faris have an impressive resume that also includes R.E.M.’s “Tongue,” Jane’s Addiction’s “Gift,” and Porno for Pyros’ “Pets”.
- Among those in the running to direct “1979″ was Spike Jonze, but he was already booked. LINK

Slope Intercepts: The Rap
Lamar Queen is an 8th grade math teacher in Los Angeles, his methodology of teaching students includes writing and performing songs to reinforce lessons. When we discovered Lamar he already had a whole text book worth of songs and this video that he made with the help of teachers and students at his school. Although it is not polished, we believe in using art and music to teach children almost anything so we are happy to try and bring his mission of education through the arts to a wider audience.
