Harry Eng, Master Bottle Filler

Harry Eng was born in 1932 and died in 1996. He was a school teacher, educational consultant, inventor, and magician. Harry was most famous for his Impossible Bottles.

He put all kinds of things into bottles like decks of cards, scissors, golf balls, ping pong balls, padlocks, packs of cigarettes, tennis balls, baseballs, books, dice, pairs of shoes, plus many other objects. Harry even put a bottle inside of a bottle. LINK

Man (Re)builds Amazing Floating Island

The original Spiral Island was (as its successor will be) built upon a floating collection used plastic bottles, all netted together to support a bamboo and plywood structure above. Located in Mexico, the original was 66 by 54 feet and was able to support full-sized mangroves to provide shade and privacy, yet also able to be moved from place to place by its creator as need with a simple motorized system. Three Klein Bottles Inside (Outside?) One Another

What’s more awesome than a Klein bottle? Why, three Klein bottles inside (outside?) one another! Here’s the glass sculpture by Alan Bennett for the Science Museum in London:

It consists of three Klein bottles, one inside another. A Klein bottle is a surface which has no edges, no outside or inside and cannot properly be constructed in three dimensions. In the series Alan Bennett made Klein bottles analogous to Mobius strips with odd numbers of twists greater than one.
