For those who miss the point of this intro, it's literally meant to be about looking closely at the insanity of the moment...they didn't intend to make it animated, as this allows us to see it as though it were a video game Comic still - remember, this is against Marvel, who ARE focused on comics before most other projects. it's supposed to be more of a tribute to the artistic medium that this game and Marvel are based upon.

Last Comic Standing's Mike DeStefano Dies

A sad—and too-soon—end to what was a notable comedy career.

Mike DeStefano, who mined material from his life as a former heroin junkie to become a finalist on last season's Last Comic Standing, has died, his rep confirmed.

According to his MySpace page, he was only 44.

"Mike had a lot of wisdom to share with the world from his own life lessons and he always did it with laughter and a smile," his publicist said in a statement, describing DeStefano as a "true gentleman, a great comic and a "fierce warrior."

Per Punchline Magazine, DeStefano suffered a massive heart attack late Sunday—a day before he was due to perform his gritty new one-man show, A Cherry Tree in the Bronx, at the Bananas Comedy Club in Hasbrouck Heights, N.J. DeStafano was also scheduled to perform his act Wednesday at the Barrow Street Theater in New York City.

Born and raised in the Bronx, DeStefano gained a cult following for his frank and biting autobiographical humor, from his early years battling substance abuse and serving as a drug counselor to his wife's HIV diagnosis and ultimate death.

He was a regular on the Big Apple comedy circuit and appeared on Late Night with Conan O'Brien and Comedy Central's Live at Gotham and was a featured comic at HBO's Aspen Comedy Festival and Just for Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal before nearly going the distance on NBC's hit reality series. Indie comic pioneer dies young

Barry Blair, the publisher, author and artist of a vast mountain of indie comics, is dead at 52 of a brain aneurysm, reports Publishers Weekly. Successes included Samurai, Warlock 5, Elflord, and, as publisher, Men in Black. Blair was also infamous for his non-mainstream work, which often featured weird twink porn and women with unnecessarily large nipples: should you wish to save yourself before heading to Google Images, just imagine Don Bluth's Salo and you're all set. PlayStation Digital Comics Now Available For PSP

Coming good on its promise, Sony's PlayStation Network Digital Comics service has launched, with PSP owners in the US, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa able to download Marvel classics for as little as 99 cents.

Along with Marvel Entertainment comics, Disney, IDW Publishing, iVerse Media and several other publishers have supplied Sony with their wares, with 550 available today, including Iron Man, Spiderman, X-Men, Transformers and Archie.

Mickey Mouse comics drawn by concentration camp prisoner

Avi sez, "'Mickey Mouse in Gurs' is a tragic 'comic' book made by Horst Rosenthal in 1942 while incarcerated at the Gurs internment camp in France. Rosenthal uses Mickey Mouse as a kind of subversive Virgil to guide us through the hellish experiences of the concentration camp. Horst Rosenthal was murdered in Auschwitz in 1942."
