NES CONTROLLER SYNTHESIZER

Gadget hacker Michael Rucci builds his audio mods into old electronic toys and other salvaged parts, but my personal faves are his Nintendo controller synths. He’s currently got this NES synth up on his Etsy shop. LINK, Via Youtube

Hard Drive Clock Is An Arduino-Fueled, LED Trip

Hard drive clocks are a dime a dozen on sites like Etsy, but Hacked Gadgets reader NatureTM went the extra mile and employed an Arduino to control the time and LED light show on the reflective platters.

This is only phase one of NatureTM's project, a chronodot (for time accuracy) and a case will eventually be added. Details on the build are pretty basic at the moment, but a schematic can be requested and code should be posted...eventually. [Hacked Gadgets], Via: Gizmodo

Toaster looks and acts like a printer

Here's a neat kitchen gadget — a toaster that "prints out" toast. It allows you to feed multiple slices at once from the feeder at top, and spits out finished products from the bottom. It's a concept by Othmar Muehlebach, and it won second place at a design contest in Switzerland last month.

Oyule Light Bulbs: The Cheekiest Light Bulb Around

Oyule Light Bulbs are filled with paraffin and use a wick instead of a filament, so basically they become what the light bulb replaced: A paraffin lamp.

To ensure they stay upright, there's a magnet placed in the base of the bulb that corresponds to one in the acrylic base. But if you're stylish and safe enough to have an open flame on your desk, you'd better be rich, too—there are only 66 sets available, selling for $650 each.
