AIST’s new HRP-4C robot does a fairly good impersonation of human body movements. This 5′2″ fembot was unveiled at the Digital Contents Expo in Tokyo. The only thing that it needs is a steady energy supply.

The Legendary Winter Brothers

The legendary Johnny Winter and his equally epic younger brother, Edgar Winter, began performing together when they were just kids. Their first TV appearance was on a local children's television show in the Houston/Beaumont area when they were somewhere around 10 years old, strumming the ukelele and singing.

Both Winter brothers were born with albinism, and Johnny was cross-eyed. They were quite a sight. The Winter brothers really glow in those old pics.

Willie Nelson Abandons Usual Routine for Special Performance in Nashville

Willie Nelson is certainly a treasure trove of American music and a master interpreter of all styles. As if to prove this, he departed from his normal routine to play a concert dominated by cover songs Thursday night (Nov. 5) at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium. Even more surprising, perhaps, is that he didn't use his usual touring band for the show.

Once the anticipation finally ended, Nelson took the floor just before 9 p.m. to an extra-excited audience. He mentioned how good it felt to be on that particular stage, saying simply, "Now, let me find something to play."

After the pre-requisite "Whiskey River," his quickly-formed band of Nashville session musicians, including Buddy Miller and Jim Lauderdale, deftly felt their way through songs that seemed to just pop into Nelson's head. LINK

The Panopticons

The Panopticons are a set of four futuristic sculptures set in the rural settings of Blackburn, Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale districts of East Lancashire, England. The powers-that-be commissioned the sculptures as gateway pieces and a symbol of the renaissance of the area.

Singing Ringing Tree:


in the series is the Singing Ringing Tree, a musical sculpture overlooking Burnley. The sculpture was designed by MIke Tonkin and Anna Liu, and was made from galvanized steel pipes. When the wind blows, the "tree" sings an eerie tune. Video to follow:
