The Paintings of Amy Crehore

The work of Amy Crehore, a sweet, talented pop surrealist painter/illustrator from Pennsylvania, NJ, and VA equally. She now resides in Eugene, Oregon where she paints some of the most brightly colorful dream like scapes. At first glance, Amy’s artwork might appear similar in style to illustrations from the pages of children’s books. Though, reading further into her finely tuned imagery, you’ll find an array of promiscuous (yet sensuous) dualities between naked women and curious animals (mostly CHEEKY monkeys). Noticeably, vintage musical instruments feature highly in Amy’s work, revealing and contributing to the pop surreal narratives that are both playful, poetic and utterly absorbing. LINK
