Woman Dives 314ft In One Breath

A British woman has set a new world record after diving 314 feet below the surface of the ocean and back in a single breath. Sara Campbell - at just five feet tall, nicknamed Mighty Mouse - spent a total of three minutes 36 seconds under water off Long Island in the Bahamas. The depth of her dive in the Vertical Blue competition took her down the equivalent of the height of Big Ben’s clock tower. The 37-year-old emerged from the Atlantic light headed - but with a new ‘Constant Weight’ women’s world record. Using a mermaid-like monofin, she descended along a vertical line. Under the rules she was not allowed to change her ballast during the dive. She said: ‘This was by far the toughest world record I’ve earned.” w/ photos
