DEER FLY OVER HIGH FENCE, GOOD JUMPS, SHOTS PROTECT FAWN
Deer effortlessly fly over a high fence. Video shows the awesome grace and power of the whitetail deer as they leap over a high wire fence. The fence including the barbed wire above it was about 5 feet high. Very cold winter day. Also shows jumps in slow motion.
The deer hear near-by gun shots and know they are in danger.
A fawn seemed unable to jump the fence. Its mother looked very concerned. She watched it. The deer stayed by the fawn and did not leave, although a hunter was shooting. The deer were protective of the fawn, even though they were in danger. Note the body language and tail signals, for example, before the last deer jumped the fence watch it and the fawn flash their white tails.
Several times the deer were startled by the hunter's gun shots. They jerked, looked around, and then jumped the fence. LINK: Youtube

The World’s Largest Earthquake-Safe Building

The new terminal at Istanbul's Sabiha Gökçen Airport is the world's largest earthquake-safe building. You're looking at the over two million square feet of scaffolding that support it, all resting on top of giant geological roller skates.
Instead of being built on top of the soil, the whole structure rests on over 300 isolators. These giant bearings let the building move laterally during an earthquake. After Istanbul got rocked by a magnitude 7.4 monster in 1999, and another major quake predicted to occur within the next 30 years, you can see why engineers decided to make this massive building shake-resistant.
As terrible as a massive earthquake would be, it would be incredible to see a building this huge move from side to side. Maybe we will in a future "World's Strongest Man" event. [Wired, Via: Gizmodo]

SAFE -T- BED

Somewhere between a sock and an actual bank lies the Executive Safe-T bed. Hollandia International's design incorporates a heavy-duty safe underneath the mattress and a cover in the head joint of the bed base.
The bed was originally developed for a wealthy international customer that wanted to keep a handgun close by at all times, but it is just as useful for keeping you valuables secure. The safe can be added to any Hollandia bed for around $400, but the beds themselves can run in excess of $20,000. LINK

Lego Safe is ultra secure

You might think that a Lego safe would be easy to open. Maybe just remove a few bricks and you’re in. But that’s not the case with this thing, the cutting edge of Lego safe technology. The safe weighs 14 pounds and has a motion detecting alarm so it can’t be moved without creating a huge ruckus.
The lock takes five double digit codes to open it. That translates into over 305 billion different combinations. It even boasts an electronic status display showing the numbers as you turn the combination dials. When you enter the combination, the door electronically opens itself. It’s a great place to store all of your valuable geek stuff. Check out a video below. LINK
