Takeshi Miyakawa: Candelier

Candelier', created by japanese-born, New York-based designer Takeshi Miyakawa, is a chandelier composed entirely out of wax, burning itself into nonexistence during normal use. Miyakawa conceptualized the work from his use of artist Nova Jiang's 'Creatomatic' software program. The application randomly juxtaposes images of two everyday objects, promoting free association and creativity: 'The 'Creatomatic' uses the technique of surprise to overcome habitual ways of thinking and short-circuit rational control.' Hypodermic Syringe Chandelier by Andy Diaz Hope

This series of chandelier sculptures drips with sparkling hypodermic needles and garlands of swarovski crystal, and colorful gelatin capsules. Viewed from beneath they create colorful mandalas on which to meditate on ones relationship to pharmaceuticals. The beauty of the object from a distance and the repulsion of the individual elements upon closer inspection create the tension of our cultures schizophrenic relationship to drugs.,

This Chandelier Is Fan-Friggin-Tastic

The enthusiastically titled "Fan-Tastic Chandel-Air" by Meyda lighting combines, you guessed it, a chandelier and a fan into one crazy looking customizable design.

The first design in the series, "Tall Pines at Dusk" features "a Silver Mica shade transformed into a decorative /functional casement for a 29-inch fan." It is also designed to be an energy saver with blades that can reverse direction—pulling hot air up in the summer and pushing it down in the winter. LINK
