Knitted Skeleton

Ben Cuevas knitted a realistic human skeleton. He calls the project “Transcending the Material”, and made it while in an art collective called the Wassaic Project. There are eleven more pictures at the link. The level detail on the vertebrae is amazing.

The photorealistic paintings of Glennray Tutor

( Quote ) Drawn! brought my attention to the paintings of Glennray Tutor.

It's easy to dismiss photo-realist work as an exercise in surface obsession, but Glennray Tutor, a Jedi warrior of the style, has to be admired for his dedication to what Yeats called 'the fascination with what's difficult.'

Expressive Sculptures

Realistic commercial sculptures by Adam Beane. Fantastic work!

Notes by Beane:

The excellent art directors I’ve worked with have been instrumental in my growth as a sculptor, a communicator and a businessman. They have frequently allowed me to push projects beyond expectations and as a result, I have become known for dynamic compositions, action poses, nuanced drapery work and my ability to capture likenesses with expressions. Bryan Berg, the Card Stacker

His ability to construct large scale models of city scapes out of cards: using no glue, no outside support, and no trickery. His work is phenomenal, utilizing his architectural and engineering background to shape realistic interpretations of some of the modern world’s most iconic structures. LINK
