The Legendary Winter Brothers

The legendary Johnny Winter and his equally epic younger brother, Edgar Winter, began performing together when they were just kids. Their first TV appearance was on a local children's television show in the Houston/Beaumont area when they were somewhere around 10 years old, strumming the ukelele and singing.

Both Winter brothers were born with albinism, and Johnny was cross-eyed. They were quite a sight. The Winter brothers really glow in those old pics.

Sophie Madeleine - "The Stars"

Armed with her trusty ukelele, a voice to die for and a penchant for hirsute gentlemen, Sophie has been taking the web by storm. A DIY video for her Beard Song has recieved 136,000 hits on YouTube, while her fabulous album, Life.Love.Ukelele, is winning plaudits from the blogosphere and beyond. Its not hard to see why. With a masters degree in songwriting, Sophies sublime pop songs are perfectly crafted creations charming, sunny, very funny and as pretty as their mother.

Sophie played most of the instruments on the album herself, but even a talent such as hers doesnt stretch to playing three instruments simultaneously. So for her Crypt Session she was joined by Lara Stevens and Tim Emmerick. It was our pleasure. LINK: Youtube

Smells like teen ukelele spirit

Nirvana famous song 'Smells like teen spirit' by The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain (www.ukuleleorchestra.com).

By all accounts, Kurt Cobain *loved* ukelele music, so he’s definitely spinning in his grave over this performance - spinning for JOY, that is. YouTube, Via: Neatorama
