Artist Builds Stunning Lego Aircraft Carrier Out of 250,000 Bricks

Ed Diment, 39-year-old British Lego artist, created amazing model of the retired US aircraft carrier, USS Intrepid, using 250,000 pieces of Lego bricks.
It took Diment and his associates about a year to finish the masterpiece, which is now displayed in a Interpid Sea-Air-Space Museum, New York.
A model, which has been valued at more than 50,000 dollars, is almost seven meters long and weighs 249kg.

An artist has created a 22ft model of the USS aircraft carrier Intrepid using 250,000 pieces of Lego.
Ed Diment built the model, which weighs almost 40st (249kg), on board the Intrepid, the world's largest aircraft carrier, which is now a museum and is docked in New York.
Mr Diment, who has been building models with Lego since the age of three, explained how he began the huge task of building the warship, which has been valued at more than £30,000 ($50,000).

Sabre-toothed squirrel

A Niagara Falls woman has a fond regard for a neighbourhood squirrel born with an unusual birth defect.

The squirrel has a strange protruding tooth that looks somewhat like a sabre.

Mary Jo Sutter says she's an animal lover and has been feeding the critter since she was very little.

She also says some of her neighbours on Memorial Parkway are afraid of the squirrel because of her protuding tooth. But, she just loves her and made a video tribute to the squirrel. LINK, Via: Youtube

Natasha Ricardson, Actress, Dies at 45

Natasha Richardson, a Tony Award-winning actress whose career melded glamorous celebrity with the bloodline of theater royalty, died Wednesday in a Manhattan hospital, where she had been flown suffering from head injuries after a skiing accident on Monday north of Montreal. She was 45 and lived in Manhattan and Millbrook, N.Y.

Continental Airlines statement on NY plane crash

Clarence, NEW YORK (BNO NEWS) -- Continental Airlines released the following statement, confirming that one of its planes crashed in New York, killing 49 people.

MANASSAS, Va., Feb. 12, 2009 — Continental Connection flight number 3407, operated by Colgan Air, was involved in an accident at about 10:20 p.m. Eastern time today while the aircraft, a Bombardier Dash 8 Q400, was operating between Newark Liberty International Airport and Buffalo Niagara International Airport. Colgan Air is in the process of collecting information and will schedule a preliminary news briefing to be held in Buffalo. Information concerning the time and location of the briefing will be distributed to the news media as soon as it is available. LINK
