The Official Tim Burton Website

You have probably heard of Time Burton, the Director of such classic films as Edward Scissorhands and Sleepy Hollow. Many say that they can tell a Tim Burton film from the first few seconds, such is the consistency of his aesthetic. Another side to Burton, however, is that of the artist and this - his official site - is chockablock of ideas from his fevered imagination.

You are guided through the whole experience by the stain boy, a wonderfully expressive pencil drawing. He will take you through the options available at the site, such as seeing what Burton has coming up in terms of his art as well as the ability to see some 'private' works as well. Altogether this is a wonderful experience - more of a museum of art than a website. LINK: Webphemera

10 Classic Tim Burton Movies

Feeling dark? Brewing a cauldron of eye of newt and leg of spider? Working on your latest steampunk digs? Surely you can take a break and check out classics from the man who defined dark and powerful filmmaking.

Directors are ultimately a matter of preference, but no one can deny that when a movie needs a sickening, dark twist on it, only one man is right for the job. That man is Tim Burton, who gave us the first Batman movie with Michael Keaton and delighted our children with The Nightmare Before Christmas. Despite using Johnny Depp in nearly every movie he’s ever done, the man is a legend of film and today, we pay tribute to Burton by showcasing his 10 best flicks. Forget to vote on your favorite and the Corpse Bridge herself may just come and get you in your sleep…

Vincent - Tim.Burton.Short.Animation.1982

If you ever had any doubt that Tim Burton wasn't a great storyteller, you haven't seen this older, short film called Vincent. With all that technology out there, a movie's story can often get lost, buried in special effects. It's nice to know that a sweet film like this exists, where a kid's imagination is explored and where, in the first few seconds, you can fall in love with a little boy named Vincent.

The film is a humorous look at a suburban boy named Vincent who reads Edgar Allen Poe and identifies with horror film star Vincent Price. The studio gave Burton the go ahead after Price read the story and agreed to do the voiceover.

Price said later that the film “was the most gratifying thing that ever happened. It was immortality–better than a star on Hollywood Boulevard” . LINK, Via: Youtube
