R1 Go Kart Passes a Cop

This BEAST is finally for sale after years of people begging me to sell it. The price is $4,995 or $5,300 includes shipping it to you anywhere in the United States. Email/message this channel to inquire about purchasing this monster. This is a one of a kind custom frame built specifically for this engine. One of the previous owners told me the gentlemen that bought it from him had it up to 170mph. This kart is wicked. WATCH TILL THE END, A POLICE CAR PASSES IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION!! If your impatient to watch 10 minutes of video, skip to 7:50 and watch till the end for the best part. 2005 Yamaha R1 Sport Bike engine in a Beisse Shifter Kart. Around 180 HP, weighs about 220lbs. Previous owner had Kart up to 181 mph before a tire blew out. Using GoPro Hero High Def camera with adhesive mount. NOTE: The rear tires are worn out so the driver didn't do anything to crazy. The ending was edited out to protect the driver, what you missed was the kart driving into a garage door that was purposely left open 3-4 feet, the driver gets out and rushes to close the door. Location: Northern Michigan
Here are a couple videos of the previous owner; where the speedo read 181mph and spun out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MmH4ZwwnXCk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tV-dwsWh0NQ&feature=related

Larger Than Life R2D2 is Driveable

(Video Link)

YouTube user dmalford1 built a R2D2 simulator that is large enough for an adult human to fit inside and drive it around. It makes appropriate light flashes, sound effects, and has a rotating dome.

Roger Williamson and the Dutch Grand Prix Tragedy of 1973

Roger Williamson (February 2, 1948 - July 29, 1973) was a talented racing driver from England who was killed during the 1973 Dutch Grand Prix.

Williamson won the 1971 and 1972 British Formula Three Championship titles. In 1973, Formula One returned to the Zandvoort for the Dutch Grand Prix, after an absence of a year due to extensive safety upgrades to the race track which amongst others included new asphalt, installation of barriers and building a new race control tower. This race was only the second Formula One start for the March team and the second Grand Prix race for the promising Williamson.

During the race, Williamson suffered a sudden tire deflation, which pitched him into the barriers at high speed and catapulted his car 300 yards (275 metres) across the track against the barriers on the other side. Williamson’s car came to a rest upside down and the driver was unable to extricate himself from the burning car. Fellow driver David Purley came to Williamson’s aid but he was unable to overturn the car. Initially some people, like the commentators on Dutch tv, race control and some of the other drivers participating in the race, thought that Purley was the driver that belonged to the burning car, and thus thought that the driver had gotten away safely. The Skateboard Car

What if the next car you buy will be the only car you ever have to buy again? What if you could sit where ever you wanted when you drove? What if you didn't need a steering wheel? But could navigate using a joystick or a mouse. And what if you never burned a single drop of gas wherever you went, because your car had no engine. LINK, Via: Youtube
