Daihai Fei graduated from college six months ago and needed a place to live in Beijing. But the rental properties available were so expensive that he decided to build his own house. It’s shaped like an egg and made from burlap bags, bamboo, insulation, and paint. Fei built a solar panel into the roof. The total cost was 6400 yuan or $960 USD. You can view several more pictures at the link, which appears to be in Italian.

Armless Pianist Liu Wei - You're Beautiful (Winner of China's Got Talent Final 2010)
Lost his arms in an accident at age 10, Liu Wei from Beijing never gives up living strong. He managed to do everything with his feet and started to learn to play piano at age 19. His dream is to become a musician. He is now 22 and just won the China's Got Talent Show on Oct. 10, 2010. In the final, he played piano and sang the song "You Are Beautiful", perhaps his vocal is not the best render of this song, but the power and inspiration of his zest for life won him the final. Bravo! Liu Wei's motto is,"I have two options - I can die as fast as possible, or I can live a brilliant life. And I chose the latter." LINK: Youtube

?? - The Temple of Heaven
Located on a marble plateau in a huge garden in the centre of the Chinese capital of Beijing is the Heaven Temple, a 600 year old wooden structure standing 105ft tall without a single nail being used to construct it! The temple itself is a beatiful example of traditional Chinese construction - built according to many traditional rules and supersticions.
Parks and gardens surrounding the temple are beautiful green fields of grass with many trees some of which - such as the famous nine dragons tree - dating from the time in which the temple was constructed.

Great Wheel – A flying experience
Surpassing the heights of London Eye and the Singapore Flyer, the Great Wheel of China, of course not a twin to the Great Wall of China, offers a flying experience, towering at 208 meters (682 ft) would be the highest and largest of its kind, when completed in 2009. The wheel to be raised in the eastern Beijing’s Chaoyang Park has far greater capacity than the London Eye.
The giant ferris wheel would feature 48 air conditioned observation capsules, each of these would carry up to 40 passengers. More so, on a fine day even the Great Wall could be viewed in the mountains to Beijing’s north. The construction of Great Wheel is estimated to cost around 200 million Euros (139 million pounds), with tickets within affordable limits at the rate of about 100 Yuan (6 pounds) per head.
In Chief Executive Officer of Great Wheel, Stephan Matter’s view “It will allow the people of Beijing to rise up and see the city from a completely new perspective,” he said. “It is a flight.” LINK

Forbidden City - Beijing China
Lying at the center of Beijing, the Forbidden City, called Gu Gong in Chinese, was the imperial palace during the Ming and Qing dynasties. Now known as the Palace Museum, it is to the north of Tiananmen Square. Rectangular in shape, it is the world's largest palace complex and covers 74 hectares. Surrounded by a six meter deep moat and a ten meter high wall are 9,999 buildings. The wall has a gate on each side. Opposite the Tiananmen Gate, to the north is the Gate of Divine Might (Shenwumen), which faces Jingshan Park. The distance between these two gates is 960 meters, while the distance between the gates in the east and west walls is 750 meters. There are unique and delicately structured towers on each of the four corners of the curtain wall. These afford views over both the palace and the city outside. The Forbidden City is divided into two parts. LINK
